Corbett Field is home to professional and amateur baseball in Minot. Built by a Federal Emergency Relief Administration (FERA) program, this stadium was first named Minot Municipal Ballpark in 1936 and renamed in 1947. As one dimension of the federal work relief construction initiatives of the 1930s, sports and recreation facilities were among the actively promoted building types, and baseball stadiums were constructed for nearly every minor league baseball team in the original Northern League (Dakotas and Minnesota). This traditional baseball stadium has served as an important and scenic feature of community. The roof was added to the grandstand in 1947. The stadium was severely impacted by the 2011 flood, but was restored and reopened for the 2013 baseball season.
