Sitting close to downtown Norwalk, the Samuel Preston House was originally located on West Main Street, but it was later moved a short distance to Case Avenue. Built in 1835, the wood-framed house displays a transitional Federal-Greek Revival style. The pediment on the main facade rests on a two-story, full-width porch, with each story having four square Doric piers. The original owner was editor of the Norwalk Reflector and part of the house was used for printing and publishing purposes. The building is now home to the Firelands Museum and is operated by the Firelands Historical Society.
