Center in the Square (McGuire Building)
Bustling with activity, this five-story L-shaped brick building, once a furniture store and warehouse building, is now a cultural conglomerate housing arts, science, and history museums and societies. The renovation of 2013 includes a sustainable rooftop with dining areas, a garden, and a butterfly habitat. The building's location downtown thus energizes the often-rarified atmosphere of cultural institutions.
