Higgins House

-A A +A
c. 1786–1788. North side of Winchester Ave., east of Elm St.
  • Higgins House (Nancy Powell)

The Higgins House is a two-bay, two-story log house covered with clapboard siding, with a sturdy stone chimney at one gable end. Its proportions accord well with the 18-by-18-foot house with stone or brick chimney that original purchasers of Moorefield's lots were required to build.
